🚨Disclaimers 🚨
1. While we do our best to estimate the age, breed, and temperament of every Wags and Wings dog, we cannot guarantee this information. Our fosters learn more about the dog when they arrive in the US.
2. It takes time for dogs to transition to a new home, family, and routine. Try not to make judgements on the first day and give them time to adjust, these incredible dogs’ lives are completely turning upside down.
3. Bringing a new dog into the house should be a family decision. It is important that all family members understand their role in the adoption. It is also important for the current family pets to meet the potential dog.
4. We encourage you to not use intense training methods until your new dog is completely comfortable with his/her new home, family, and routine. Using an E-collar, physical force, or screaming can trigger PTSD, something that many rescue dogs experience.
5. Don’t set the dog up for failure. Exposing a dog that has lived on the street for his/her entire life to a new environment will bring up challenges. It is important that small children understand how to treat dogs with respect. In addition, living spaces should be dog-proofed for an adjustment period.
